Omnisys celebrates 25 years in Defence and Security and announces diversification and digitalization of its business

Aviation, cybersecurity, services, new defence markets and the Internet of Things are expected to generate new business and growth

Celebrating 25 years of operation in the Defence and Security business, Omnisys, a Brazilian subsidiary of Thales, is launching a new era of business growth, driven by digitally-based services. This includes investments in new businesses, with the objective to double capacity and increase revenues by at least 10% per year over the next five years, developing technology locally and evolving in the global market.

This growth plan is based on a strategy of business diversification, which goes beyond the historical development and production of radars for civil and military applications, a flagship business since the company's creation in 1997.  New developments in services, aviation, cybersecurity and other markets will fuel this new business cycle.

Following its digital transformation in the radar segment, Omnisys has substantially upgraded its products, including new developments and software against cyber attacks, and the company continuously pursues clean energy solutions to keep them running.

In the area of cybersecurity, Omnisys develops solutions for the global portfolio of the Thales Group and implements data protection solutions in Brazil, in addition to providing services for government and private clients across a range of industries.

“Brazil has been a source of opportunities for the diversification of our radar business. For over two decades, we have built a story of success and trust with our customers, with its worldwide acknowledgment as a centre of expertise", says Luiz Henriques, CEO, Omnisys

Omnisys' growth relies on Thales' dedication to research and development. Omnisys invests approximately 5% of its annual revenues in R&D, including a BRL 15 million investment into the 2021 expansion of the plant in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). The new plant now includes larger production capacity for the radar, defence systems, and in-flight entertainment markets. Omnisys also opened its Avionics Services Centre in June of that same year, which offers repair services for avionics and flight control equipment and electrical systems for civil and military aircraft across Latin America.

In addition to its civil activities, Omnisys is certified as a Defence Company and supports Brazil's leading programs in this market, providing more than 40 products and services certified as Strategic Defence Products (PED).

"Omnisys' story has always been driven by  growth.  Our growth in expertise, efficiency and quality
has enabled us to position ourselves as a strategic partner to the country. We have tripled our revenues in the last five years and strengthened as a Brazilian company servicing Brazil. With this new range of activities, the mark Omnisys – “Omni” meaning all things and “Sys” meaning system, can now live up to its true meaning,"
concluded Luciano Macaferri Rodrigues, Country Director of Thales in Brazil.
